Rainy Elopement at the Congaree National Park - Wedding Photographer in South Carolina

When Alina first contacted me to photograph her elopement in the Congaree National Park in South Carolina, I was immediately excited. I love small and intimate weddings, and I love shooting in the nature, in beautiful natural light so this was simply perfect. 

After talking on the phone, we quickly realized how much we had in common. She is from Germany as well, following the man who stole her heart to america to be with him forever. With only 90 days to get married, a small intimate ceremony was the perfect way to swear their lives to each other. It was great to share experiences with her, and seeing how they conquered distance, eloping in this beautiful National Park brought back memories from my own wedding. 

The weather, however, was not on our side. The tropical storms all week would not stop, and so we decided to brave the storm, rain or shine. And so I took on the journey from Fayetteville, North Carolina to photograph this beautiful Wedding, through the rain, very excited to see two people say their "I do's". While at first we still tried to shield ourselves with an umbrella, we ended up tossing it and going into the rain unprotected. At the end, we were all completely soaked, but happy, and I am so grateful to share some of these beautiful Images with you.
