Erik + Meghan - Wedding at the Timerlake Earth Sanctuary in Whitsett North Carolina

Erik and Meghan got married in a beautiful ceremony in the woods at Timberlake Earth Sanctuary in Whitsett, NC. As a Raleigh Wedding Photographer, it was such a pleasure for me to drive out and capture their beautiful nuptials in a completely rained out ceremony. The rain began when the first groomsman walked down the isle and didnt stop until their first kiss. But the couple did not care - they smiled thru the entire thing, excited to finally start their life together as bride and groom!

The two met in their freshman year of college, over 9 years ago, while waiting tables together at a restaurant. They started out as friends and eventually fell head over heels for each other - they say marry your best friends and they definitely did.

"I knew he was the one when I couldn't imagine a day without him, we we're still best friends at the time."

Now that we know how their romance started, how did he propose? "We returned to a little cabin in the woods where we previously vacationed and bonded. On the second night, we went to watch the sunset at one of our favorite places. I was a ball of nerves and couldn't sit still, but I was waiting for the sunset because I wanted it to be picturesque and memorable. When the moment was right I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me." Erik told me.

What do you love most about each other?

"He serenades me and puts my name into every song he sings me, I on the other hand express my excited energy into random silly dancing and animated expressions"

"Her sense of humor. She gets my quirky sense of humor and understands me like no one else."
